Stella is operated by [legal entity name], registered at [registered address]. “We” and “us” mean that company; “you” means the account holder.
We give you bank account details to hand to whoever is paying you. When money arrives, it is converted to the stablecoin you chose and sent to the wallet address you gave us. That happens automatically, without you asking each time.
We are not a bank. We do not pay interest, we do not lend, and money held before conversion is not a deposit. The fiat balance is held by our payment provider, not by us.
We are required to know who you are. Until an identity check is completed we may limit what the account can do, and a payment that arrives in the meantime is held rather than converted. If a check fails, or you decline it, we may close the account and return the money to where it came from.
We send crypto to the address you give us. We cannot check that it is yours, we cannot recall a transfer once it is broadcast, and we cannot recover funds sent to an address you entered incorrectly or to a network the coin does not exist on.
Check the address every time you add one. This is the single largest risk in using this service, and it sits with you.
We charge a percentage of each conversion. The current rate is shown in the app before you are charged, and the amount taken is shown against every payment. Our provider's own costs are reflected in the rate you are quoted.
We will give you [notice period] notice before increasing the rate.
We screen payers, customers and destination addresses. We may refuse, hold or return a payment, and may suspend or close an account, where screening requires it — and there are situations where the law prevents us from telling you why.
You can stop using the service whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account on [notice period] notice, or immediately where we must for legal or security reasons. Closing does not affect obligations either of us already has, and does not delete records the law requires us to keep.
Conversion and payout depend on our payment provider, on banking rails, and on public blockchains. Delays or failures in any of them are not something we can prevent. Crypto assets can lose value, and a stablecoin can lose its peg; that risk is yours.
Nothing here is investment advice.
[To be drafted with counsel: liability caps, exclusions, and what is not excludable — fraud, death or personal injury, and anything else the law does not permit us to exclude]
We will not exclude liability for our own failure to send money where you told us to send it, or for failing to keep the records this service is built to keep.
Write to [complaints contact address]. We will acknowledge within [acknowledgement period] and answer within [resolution period].
We may change these terms. If a change affects you we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting it.
These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [jurisdiction].
